It's summer time and there's nowhere we would rather be than outside, keeping cool and painting benches (and skateboards too)! Come and join us :)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
"We closed BBCC community center and stopped all activities in keeping with new local policies due to Corona since a few weeks ago. We have to keep explaining to children who want to come by daily about “social distancing “ and why we are practicing safety. Besides this, with remaining 5 Volunteers we do our best to remain creative, using the time to beautify our community center and be creative in the kitchen with our growing vegetables garden, which we plant more and more in.
Boston Bay is still quite chill; everyone keeping a more or less healthy distance, skaters and kids less so. The Bank securities almost jumped into my face while asking me what I want inside. 60 People line up tight, to be allowed one at a time into the supermarket where not more than 20 are allowed inside. Your Hands are sprayed when entering. on the taxi other passengers are ready to spray disinfectant on you too.... beach life is less but still on. Kathi, Zarah, Nathalie and Mckenzi went to Winniefred Beach yesterday ! And even Gee is still open. Port Antonio life is almost normal again after the peak of the first hysteria." - Nicola Mayer, Founder of BBCC
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
The new skatepark in Boston Bay, Portland has been the best thing since slice bread for the BBCC children. A popular new spot - members of the community, volunteers and the BBCC children visit daily to practice and hone their skating and cycling skills.
There is even a girl on the skateboard team!
But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
Thanks to the BBCC children and our volunteers (especially Curli and Kathi) our BBCC farm is alive and well with fresh new produce and new baby seedlings growing every day. Originally from Israel, Curli and his girlfriend Kathi travelled to Jamaica to get a break from the city and get more into nature.
With special attention and adult supervision, the BBCC children also visit the farm often, watering the plants and replanting seedlings as necessary.
Plants that are currently in harvest are: Gungo Peas, Cabbage, Pak Choi, Callaloo, Peppers, Arugala, Fevergrass and Plaintains. Fresh Seedlings: Moringa, Watermelon, Tomatoes & Chive.
Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.'
Every Thursday afternoon, all are welcome to join a baking class featuring Jamaican classics and tasty treats.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the LORD, knowing that in the LORD your labor is not in vain.
We started the new year with a fresh start, a fresh pot of soup and a beach clean up. We give thanks for all the help and support to make this beach clean up possible! Nuh dutty up Jamaica!
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
A big THANK YOU for being part of our team ! :)

Children from the Boston Bay community in Portland, Jamaica had a lot of fun showing off their talents at a recent event held in Portland. From dancing to singing, our community boasts a lot of talented children.
Jamaica is renowned for its dancing and vibes culture and Boston Bay is no different. Every so often, local dancers pass through to host a local dance workshop. Food is provided and we all have fun learning the latest Jamaican dance moves.
